Why Our Name?
Entelechy
-
Learn to grow, into an authentic version of you with clarity about your strengths, areas for growth, and what makes you feel safe. An authentic version of you knows what they want and need. They can act powerfully and courageously while being mindful of others and flexible when appropriate. Our authentic self can act creatively and compassionately to harmonize the various pieces of our identities, experiences, and beliefs to help us live lives aligned with our values. This process of growing into our authentic self is represented by the concept of Entelechy- the innate quality of things to become what they should be, like an acorn growing into a tree or a baby bird pecking its way out of its egg.
Healing
-
Learn to love, even when you have been hurt. Learning to love requires a deep knowledge of yourself and those around you which is consistently nourished and renewed. Love is an active process, much like a dance, where feelings are able to be expressed openly and understood deeply so that everyone gets what they need in a skillful balance. Love requires a synchronization of feeling and doing so that everyone feels cared for and seen. Love, practiced in this way, is an act of healing which repairs and enlivens the parts of us that have been hurt.
Collective
-
Learn to thrive, not just survive. Survival is a state of scarcity and stagnation that we may find ourselves in when we have experienced pain or perceive some form of threat. If left unmanaged, this state of survival can become our main way of existing. Thriving is the opposite of survival. We are thriving when we start from a felt state of safety and abundance. Play, joy, pleasure, excitement, meaningful work, comfort, gratitude, connection with others, movement and adventure are all part of thriving. We thrive when we feel like we belong- to ourselves and in a community that cares for us. We thrive when we can take risks; confident that those who love us will catch us if we fall. Learning to thrive is like knitting together a safety net of social connections, internal sources of strength, coping strategies, and courageous — even outrageous— dreams which encourage us to do wild and beautiful things. Because of this, thriving is a collective act.
Welcome to Entelechy Healing Collective.
Together, we can learn to grow, learn to love, and learn to thrive.
